We Have Empowered Small Farm Holders To Breed/Sell Over 33,000 Poultry Birds Within The Last Three Years!!!

Since our inception in 2019 as a Co-operative Society, we have sought ways to ensure that our members make contributions towards sustainable farm projects.

Funds have been raised to provide farm inputs (Day old Chicks, Feeds, Vaccines, Insurance Premiums, and Logistics) to well-vetted smallholder poultry farmers. Within this period, committed funds have been used to breed and sell over 20,000 poultry birds. The profit they make is sufficient to handle their major financial needs and that of their families.

We always inspect and monitor them to ensure that they are adhering to standards and best practices, guiding the poultry sector, so as to improve profitability.

We have committed approximately $50,000 to cater to 33,000 poultry birds. It cost an average of $3 to cater to a bird for two months. And each project has two farm cycles, which means $3 can cater for two birds in two cycles. Each project lasts for six months. This six months includes all the processes of input purchase, breeding, sales, debt collection from off-takers, profit sharing, and remitted to members (contributors). Members can earn up to 25% per annum on their contributions.

At SmartCoop (Smart Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society) we have continued to seek ways to support smallholder farmers in the chicken meat production sector. We are also planning to expand our reach to boost egg production and sales through the smallholder farmers in our network.
